CONSTANCE-LAKE CONSTANCE-HEGAU REGION

"Accessible Western Lake Constance – Experiences for Everyone" Action Week

From May 5 to 10, 2026, the “Accessible Western Lake Constance—Experiences for Everyone” action week will focus on the theme of inclusion. Over the course of six days, the region will showcase how diverse and inclusive leisure, culture, and physical activity can be—for people with various disabilities, as well as for older adults, families, and anyone who appreciates easily accessible experiences.

A diverse program highlights existing accessible offerings and invites visitors to try something new: city and museum tours provide access to history and culture, concerts create shared experiences, and a charity run combines physical activity with community engagement. Newly developed bike tours are also suitable for specialized bicycles—another step toward accessible nature experiences between the lake and the volcanoes.

The goal is to test new offerings, further develop existing ones, and raise public awareness of the needs of people with disabilities. This highlights how forward-looking tourism is envisioned on the western shore of Lake Constance: inclusive, mindful, and open to everyone.

I love traveling the world. And to be honest, accessibility often determines whether I can experience a place. Stairs and broken elevators often make life difficult for me. These days, accessibility shouldn’t be a luxury—it should be a given. The Action Week on the Western Shore of Lake Constance shows that there’s another way.
