DSTNCMP-FAQ

Everything worth knowing and answers to the most frequently asked questions about DSTNCMP.

WHAT VALUES DOES DSTNCMP REPRESENT?

At DSTNCMP, we live by democratic values, open-mindedness, and collaboration on equal terms. We clearly and explicitly distance ourselves from discrimination of all kinds.

Mother tongue, religion, sexual orientation, and origin play no role for us or for participation. However, people with radical political views who question our democratic, rule-of-law principles are not welcome.

According to our General Terms and Conditions, we reserve the right to exclude individuals who question these values and principles from the event.

IS THE EVENT ACCESSIBLE?

We strive to ensure the greatest possible accessibility in all locations. Depending on the structural situation, small compromises may occasionally be necessary, which do not affect the content or quality of participation.

We are always happy to discuss special requirements with you personally and find suitable solutions together. Please contact us at info@destinationcamp.com for this.

OVERVIEW OF ACCESSIBLE DSTNCMP

CAN I BRING MY CHILD(REN)?

The DSTNCMP embodies openness, collaboration, and a 'just do it' attitude. Therefore, it's natural for us that children are welcome to attend the sessions – at no extra cost (up to and including 15 years of age).

Participants are free to shape their afternoons as they wish: whether attending optional additional sessions, using it as dedicated work time, enjoying one of the DSTNCMP experiences, taking quiet time, or spending family time. This means children are also welcome to join these activities (for activities with limited spaces, please register them as a separate person).

Why does everyone address me informally?

At DSTNCMP, all participants address each other informally ('Du'). This has been part of the event's DNA since 2011 and has proven highly effective: it fosters a workshop atmosphere and collaborative culture, making conversations more familiar and ensuring that 'newbies' engage directly at eye level with 'veterans'.

This rule applies throughout all DSTNCMP days. How you proceed afterward is entirely up to you.

DO I NEED TO REGISTER FOR THE SESSIONS?

The morning sessions at Neustift Monastery do not require registration and are on a first come, first served basis. Reservations are not possible – if a room is full (❌), simply choose another session where spaces are still available (✅). You can view the live status of room occupancy in the Topic Overview.

For the afternoon program, reserving limited spots is mandatory and must be done via the DSTNCMP-App. Participation in workshops and guided tours is, of course, included in your DSTNCMP ticket.

No registration is required for the Water Light Festival. Your DSTNCMP wristband, which you receive upon accreditation, grants free entry to all program items.

All meeting points for potential transfers can be found under "Program" or in the DSTNCMP App.

Please come dressed however you feel most comfortable. You'll certainly be in good company with jeans and sneakers.

Who determines the topics?

Each year, prior to the event, a topic survey is conducted via the DSTNCMP website, inviting all participants and anyone interested in the future of tourism to contribute. Naturally, individuals who are not attending the upcoming DSTNCMP are also welcome to submit their suggestions.

At the beginning of each year, the topic survey is evaluated by our scientific partner MCI in cooperation with Projekt D. This ensures that desired topics, questions, and ideas are considered as comprehensively as possible and clustered effectively.

You can find the results in our topic table starting mid-Q1.

Who selects the moderators?

To ensure we have the right professionals to moderate and provide input for all session topics, individuals with relevant expertise are selected by the netzvitamineTEAM after the topics have been published.

In this process, we also consider recommendations from our networks.

What's the best way to get there?

We have compiled the most important information for your journey on the "Arrival" page. There you will also find specific details for eco-friendly travel by train.
