WERKSCHAU²⁶ HAS BEEN PUBLISHED
224 PAGES FULL OF RESULTS AND IMPRESSIONS FROM BRIXEN AND KLOSTER NEUSTIFT
KEY TOPICS INCLUDED TRANSFORMATION AND THE IMPACT OF AI
For years, DestinationCamphas been regarded as the “industry’s leading think tank.” In May, in Brixen, South Tyrol, a new perspective was introduced— the “Industry Experience Space”: What can we learn from leading businesses? What lessons can be drawn for the tourism industry?
The 224-pageWERKSCHAU²⁶ has now been published. It documents theinsights, topics, theses, and conclusions from 32 sessions, workshops, and presentations at theDSTNCMP²⁶ held May 5–7 in Brixen, South Tyrol. It offers many ideas for everyday work. The contributions show how AI is now influencing nearly all tourism-related processes and how far along the transformation is. Furthermore, the (co-)design of the living environment is coming to the forefront in many places.
Participants will receive the documentation by mail in the next few days. Everyone else can order the printed edition for 49 euros or download the digital version at destinationcamp.werkschau.
WERKSCHAU²⁶ documents insights into transformation, personalization, communication, and co-creation. It highlights the importance of digital data, outlines adaptation strategies, and discusses the future viability of destinations. Organizations need to be reimagined, and “female leadership” does not primarily mean “putting women in power.”
The many tips and tools are complemented by colorful snapshots of the supporting program and the legendary Water Light Festival. Brixen, the small town with big ambitions, and the “place of power” Neustift Abbey shed light on new perspectives and experiences with transformation.
At the monastery, the approximately 220 participants from the tourism, academic, hospitality, agency, technology, and platform sectors gathered for their sessions and meetings. All of this is once again thoroughly documented and presented in an engaging editorial format in WERKSCHAU26.

TheDSTNCMP²⁷ will take place June 15–17, 2027, in Antwerp , Belgium. The conference will be held in German but with an even stronger transnational focus. The topics will delve more deeply into governance, the visitor economy, and European cooperation in tourism . The sessions will be extended to develop even more concrete recommendations and decision-making frameworks. At the same time, the number of parallel tracks will be reduced, and the duration of the conference will be shortened to Tuesday evening through Thursday evening.
Since the number of participants will also be limited in order to foster more in-depth discussion, we recommend registering as soon as possible at destinationcamp.com/tickets (available starting in September). You can also get a first look at Antwerp, Belgium’s largest city, inWERKSCHAU²⁶.
