This federal state, measuring just 100 kilometers from north to south, stretches from Lake Constance to the mountain ranges of Arlberg, Silvretta, and Rätikon. Vorarlberg unites six regions: the Lake Constance-Vorarlberg region with the cities of Bregenz, Dornbirn, Hohenems, and Feldkirch, the Bregenzerwald, the Kleinwalsertal, Lech Zürs & Stuben am Arlberg, the Montafon, and the Alpine town of Bludenz with its three Alpine valleys: Brandnertal, Biosphere Park Großes Walsertal and Klostertal.

Within a small area, Vorarlberg combines an astonishing diversity of landscapes. There are vast plains as well as gentle hills, moors, forests, river valleys, and high alpine peaks. Lake Constance presents a picturesque scene. The festival and cultural city of Bregenz, parks, lidos, and the Rhine Delta nature reserve line its almost 30-kilometer-long, freely accessible shore. Mountains are always in sight, as two-thirds of Vorarlberg lies over 1,000 meters high. Cities and villages impress with their well-maintained appearance. Characteristic of Vorarlberg is the harmonious coexistence of traditional and contemporary (wooden) architecture.

Vorarlberg is easily accessible by train from all directions.

If you wish to move your work to the city center, the best place to find a spot is at Cafe BAHI in Bregenz. It offers a cozy atmosphere with excellent coffee and homemade cakes.

Bregenz entices with a variety of activities in Vorarlberg's state capital. It offers delightful and musical experiences, with both new and familiar cultural highlights and numerous beautiful places to discover along the Austrian section of Lake Constance's shore. Especially in spring, when there is still snow on the nearby mountains, you can feel the city come alive and people being drawn out into nature. On the Pfänder, the city's hiking mountain, it becomes visibly greener. Lake blue and green are the dominant colors in summer. The cultural calendar adds colorful accents between spring and autumn.

Walkers and cyclists enjoy the southern flair and the floral splendor along the Lake Constance shore. From early April to mid-October, Lake Constance ships depart from Bregenz harbor to various destinations around the lake. A short distance from the harbor, at the Molo, the Sunset Steps are a popular spot to watch the incredibly beautiful sunsets over Lake Constance.

Those who wish to go higher can take the cable car up the 1,064-meter-high Pfänder. At the top, arguably the most beautiful view opens up over Lake Constance, and over the mountain world of Vorarlberg and Switzerland.

An exhibition, concert, theater, or festival visit? For culture enthusiasts, Bregenz has a remarkable amount to offer. The spectacular Lake Stage of the Bregenz Festival is considered the city's summer landmark. However, the Bregenz Festival House is an attractive event venue for all kinds of events throughout the year. Its recognition as 'One of the three best congress centers in the world' is just one of its many accolades.

Two museums are worth a visit. The vorarlberg museum impresses with its exhibitions and facade: over 16,000 concrete blossoms adorn the building, which skillfully combines old with new. Just a few meters away stands the KUB (Kunsthaus Bregenz), built according to the plans of Swiss architect Peter Zumthor. The KUB is one of Europe's leading exhibition venues for contemporary art. In several exhibitions each year, an artist occupies the entire building. The city's numerous galleries are also worth visiting.
