HOCHSCHWARZWALD TOURISM

"SCHELLSCH HALT MOL!"

Who hasn't experienced this: You see an impressively well-kept farmhouse garden and would love to know what's growing there. Or you're unsure which path leads to your destination. If you pull out your smartphone now, you've already missed a lot – at least in the Hochschwarzwald and if you don't know what "Schellsch halt mol" means.

"Schellsch halt mol!" is the Alemannic invitation for "Just ring the bell." This sign is displayed on more and more shops and private homes in the Black Forest holiday region. It is, in essence, an invitation for an authentic encounter. Visitors receive answers to their questions and first-hand tips from the residents.

According to the jury's assessment, the initiative brings together various approaches and stakeholders in tourism. It is "human-centric," regional, and deeply connected to its homeland; it creates approachability in tourism and deliberately represents the breaking down of grand ideas into local realities, the setting aside of concerns, and the inspiring of helpers.
