The Mosel Wine Night Market in Traben-Trarbach transforms historic wine cellars into a unique winter experience centered on wine, indulgence, and culture. Instead of a traditional Christmas market, it offers an underground experience that brings history and regional identity to life.

Implementing the project was challenging: security, infrastructure, and public acceptance all had to be rethought. In addition, the project represented a major financial strain for the city for years. It was only with the introduction of an admission fee, after nearly ten years, that it became economically viable and sustainable. Today, the market plays a significant role in extending the tourist season along the Moselle and boosts tourism and the regional economy far beyond the city limits.
