A pragmatic approach, unconventional ideas, bold execution—long-term results are possible even with a small budget and minimal effort. Most of the time, it’s simply a matter of just giving it a try. Or it can be about adapting a proven strategy to your own circumstances. For particularly successful “just give it a try” projects, there’s the DSTNCMP²⁶-Award.
The DSTNCMP²⁶-Award is an award for sustainable innovations that have been implemented with courage and pragmatism. It doesn’t matter how small or large, complex or simple the innovation is. What matters is the exemplary nature and adaptability of the solution found.
The prize for the winner is a Advertisement from the prize sponsor DIE ZEIT in its URLAUBSKOMPASS (Discover section) and a Ppremium listing in the “Kommst Du mit?” newsletter. TheDSTNCMP Award is presented by experts from the German-speaking tourism industry at theannual DestinationCamp—which will mark its fifth edition in 2026. The Application for the DSTNCMP²⁶-Award is open from February 4 to March 15, 2026,using a simple online form. A preliminary jury will then select three to five completed projects from the submissions. From these, the three winners will be chosen on May 7 in Brixen following a pitch. The audience vote via the “Applausometer” will also be factored into the evaluation.
From May 5–7, approximately 250 CEOs and executives from the tourism industry, academia, agencies, and OTAs in the DACH regions, Italy, and Benelux, as well as consultants and system providers, will gather in Brixen, South Tyrol, for the 16th time. In one of South Tyrol’s oldest cities and at the Neustift Abbey—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—they can once again look forward to the tried-and-true combination of in-depth thematic workshops, inspiring evening events, and an exciting supporting program.
A special highlight—and for some, a reason to extend their stay—is the "Brixen Water Light Festival": Light artists transform water features, fountains, and historic buildings in the old town into an open-air gallery centered on the theme “Water is Life—Light is Art.” DSTNCMP²⁶-The is also the admission ticket for this.
