VARGO provides the musical backdrop
Sounds evoke emotions and—when used appropriately—can subconsciously have a positive effect on the atmosphere, the ambiance, and people’s sense of well-being. The same principles that apply to “chilling at the beach bar” can also be applied to events.
Ambient Domain, based in Hamburg, has thoroughly explored the phenomenon of sound and developed its “ESD” (Emotional Sound Design) concept based on this research. Together with Cafè del Mar and chillout legend VARGO, they’ll be providing a soundscape of perfectly curated music as part of DestinationCamp—not just on Friday evening during the official networking and socializing, but also during the workshop breaks on Saturday and Sunday. Add to that the atmospheric vibes of the Speicherstadt, the gentle background sounds of the harbor… Can you already picture it? In any case, keep your fingers crossed that the weather holds up ;)
VARGO is a duo from Hamburg consisting of producer, multi-instrumentalist, and sound artist Ansgar Üffink and the versatile, enchanting voice of Stephanie Hundertmark. Their project playfully shifts between ambient and trip-hop, downbeat and pop—and does so with great success: VARGO was the first German band to be featured on the internationally acclaimed “Café del Mar” CD series, where they subsequently established themselves as regular guests. They are now featured on well over 150 compilations, which have sold more than two million copies, including other classic compilations such as “Buddha Bar,” “Klassik Lounge,” and “Bar Lounge Classics.” Their debut album “Beauty,” long recognized as a classic among connoisseurs, achieved cult status in many countries and built a worldwide fan base.
Without the backing of a major label, without a tour, and without international press coverage, *Beauty* went on to sell over 50,000 copies worldwide, making VARGO one of the most successful bands in its genre. Their latest album, *Precious*, continues this success.
