2012 SUMMARY

A Gold Rush Atmosphere with Team Spirit: 2012 in Review
We did it. Two days of hard work are behind us. Two days of working together and analyzing key issues. Two days filled with controversial and in-depth discussions featuring a wide range of viewpoints.
Two days filled with passion, sweat, and massive mind maps. And: an enormous amount of courage, team spirit, and the determination to take new actions based on the checklists, courses of action, and perspectives we developed.

On Friday evening, we kicked things off with an inspiring keynote address, which may have contributed to the clear calls to action and inspiration we saw on Saturday. This morning, we heard the proposals developed yesterday and, building on them, worked out concrete measures and guidelines in a scenario workshop organized by topic group. The six presentations are already online and embedded at the end of this post. The detailed summary of the results, all the photos, and the video will be available by mid-May.
It was great to see that everyone really wanted to make a difference together, which is why new terms were coined to help us work in a solution-oriented way.
For example , "Demokratur" for the integration of top performers with a certain degree of emphasis, or "ESP" for Emotional Selling Proposition.
Right here and now, I’d love to write and share so much more about everything I experienced over the weekend—especially what came back to me... But for those who were there, everything has already been said. I don’t think the feeling that kept coming up during the event—and that moved every single person—can really be put into words. Nor does it need to be. It was the team spirit that had been palpable throughout every area since Friday evening and that also led to the conclusion of the 2012 Creative and Future Workshop: There’s a real gold rush atmosphere among the participants!

So all that's left for me to do is say THANK YOU:
- To all participants, for your honest input, your courage, and your tremendous, results-oriented discipline
- To all facilitators and mind mappers for implementing the concept
- To our sponsors and supporters, without whom DestinationCamp would not be possible
- To the hardworking Helping Hands team led by Stefan Dupke
- To Ute Dallmeier, our host and reliable teammate
- To Stefan for the most meticulous PowerMindMap printout
- To Oliver for organizing Saturday's evening program
- To Elvia for her tireless support in the lead-up to the event, as well as during setup and takedown
- To Ansgar and Timm from VARGO for music and technical support
- To Florian from Panem et Salis for the food
- To Samova for the delicious tea (cocktail) tasting
- To Jan, Richi, and Börnie for the photos, video, and interviews
- and to everyone else who selflessly helped make sure everything ran smoothly!
In the coming weeks, we'll be looking for a date for DestinationCamp 2013 so we can keep the atmosphere and spirit alive and thriving.
