KICK-OFF 2013

From Travel to Holiday
Tourism professionals who say they'd better leave (despite a lively party) to be fit the next day must have something big planned...
And that's exactly what they have. It's about building on last year's team spirit, continuing, and daring to try new things!
Nearly 180 tourism professionals from various countries, diverse industry sectors, and companies gathered today in Hamburg for what is now the third DestinationCamp. Lively discussions, exciting connections, new ideas, and... well... lively parties... ;) are expected.
This year's DestinationCamp kicked off with a short film that revived last year's atmosphere with beautiful images:
The enthusiasm and applause spoke for themselves – and the lively discussions and interjections immediately after Prof. Dr. Stark's keynote once again showed how emotional such a huge industry can be.
The panel discussion was high-caliber and lively, and even if Germany's holiday periods are fixed until 2020, almost every other topic in tourism is currently open for discussion. This is precisely where the workshops came in, passionately presented and promoted with heart and soul by the six moderator-mindmapper teams.
While the keynote criticized the often overly scheduled daily life of a burnout society lacking islands of relaxation – the workshop topics demonstrated how essential structure is for our industry. Structure that guarantees our guests relaxation... Paradoxical? Perhaps – but that's why we're here! To take off the rose-tinted glasses and discuss across industries and forge new paths... We are tourism, and we must show it! We look forward to 2 exciting days!
