From Travel to Vacation

Tourism professionals who say they'd better head out (despite the raucous party) so they'll be ready for the next day must have something big planned...

And that's exactly what they've done. It's about building on last year's team spirit, keeping the momentum going, and trying something new!

Just under 180 tourism professionals from various countries, a wide range of industry sectors, and different companies gathered today in Hamburg for what is now the third DestinationCamp. We’re expecting lively discussions, exciting connections, new ideas, and… well… wild parties… ;)

This year's DestinationCamp kicked off with a short film that brought back the atmosphere from last year with some of the most beautiful images:

The enthusiasm and applause spoke for themselves—and the lively discussions and comments that followed immediately after Prof. Dr. Stark’s keynote address showed once again just how emotional such a massive industry can be.

The panel discussion featured a high-caliber and dynamic lineup, and even though Germany’s vacation periods are set through 2020, virtually every other topic in tourism is currently up for discussion. And that’s exactly where the workshops came in—they were presented with great passion by the six teams of moderators and mind-mappers and promoted with heartfelt enthusiasm.

While the keynote address criticized the often overly hectic daily routine of our “burnout society”—which lacks any oases of relaxation—the workshop topics demonstrated just how essential structure is for our industry. Structure that guarantees our guests relaxation... A paradox? Perhaps—but that’s why we’re here! Let’s take off our rose-colored glasses, engage in cross-industry discussions, and blaze new trails... We are the tourism industry, and we need to show it! We’re looking forward to two exciting days!
