DAY 2 #DCHH13

April 28, 2013, by Benjamin Buhl

Did anyone here say "Google"?

Today we're keeping the daily recap much shorter. At least as far as the writing goes. After all, we've written enough already:

6 topics, 4 discussion rounds, x 4 mind map branches, x countless challenges, ideas, opportunities, and potential solutions = a ton of material for the scenario workshop!

It should be noted that a wide range of expectations and individual experiences have largely been reconciled. The causes of problems have been identified, and opportunities have been documented so that concrete measures can now be developed.

What’s interesting is that, when it comes to certain buzzwords, this industry sometimes doesn’t really care about the issues within its own ranks, where individuals need to catch up, or which walls could be torn down and new bridges built. When “Google” comes up in a session, we’re quick to jump on it. After all, there’s always something to complain about, discuss, or even talk to death. Even though in this case it was a clever ploy by the moderator team to “promote” their topic—and even though the content was truly deeply useful, extremely important, and for some certainly quite different from what they expected— we often prefer to focus on things we can’t change anyway, rather than on those where we can achieve success in the short term with just a little effort. That effort is actually less, isn’t it? ;)

But we're not done yet, and so far we haven't even discussed specific measures or action items. That's exactly why there's Day 3, which we can look forward to with great anticipation.

What else happened?

Or to put it another way: the video recap and the first photos show us how work and fun can be combined on a long day. With these glimpses, Wilken wishes you many more wonderful hours enjoying Hamburg’s nightlife. See you later!
