ONE FILM FOR EVERYTHING?

ONE FILM FOR ALL OCCASIONS?
Just recently, a DMO sent another request: "We would like a film that works everywhere." With the lowest possible (financial) effort, the film should be usable on a website, social media, at trade fairs, for recruitment, sales, and presentations. Can that work – six in one go?
That sounds tempting. One film, many channels, maximum efficiency. The only problem is: A film cannot simultaneously be short and long, loud and quiet, fast and slow, and rarely is a piece both emotional and thumb-stopping within the first one or two seconds.
Every channel speaks its own language. It has its own requirements. Its own logic. Its own algorithm. An emotional image film works wonderfully on the website. And on YouTube. On social media, however, it is often too long. At trade fairs, it's too quiet. For recruitment, it's too generic. For sales, it's too vague.
A film that tries to give something to everyone doesn't truly serve anyone.
OK, you might be thinking now, problem identified – so what do I do? It's simple: Instead of planning ONE film for EVERYTHING, it's worth thinking about ONE CONCEPT for MANY things.
Core idea: A master film, underpinned by a clear idea and approach. And from that, small, precise adaptations for social media, trade fairs, recruitment, and sales. Ultimately, this means: Hardly any more effort, but a much greater impact!
Social-Cut-Down becomes a standalone communication format
Previously, for paid content on social media, you could simply pick out two or three nice images from the image film, add a headline – and the ad was ready. It somehow worked. That's no longer the case today. Since Meta's Andromeda update, the first image is more decisive than ever. The first few seconds. The thumb-stop.
A Social-Cut-Down is therefore no longer a "by-product" that is simply created incidentally. It is its own format, a standalone piece of communication. A good Social-Cut-Down is a concise excerpt from the main film we produced, which we optimize specifically for social networks. Conceived from the same idea as the overarching guiding principle, but built for the logic of social media. By condensing to the core message, this shortened version can effectively achieve its impact on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and others.
In addition, this almost incidentally creates a lot of material for a real video content pool. Then digital drawers can be opened, labeled with "Wellness," "Hiking," "Autumn," or "Culinary." Filled with video footage that can still be used in two years. Insider tip: This only works if you also secure the rights to the raw footage (naturally included with silberstern).
A good film doesn't have to do everything, but it must be able to do the right thing.
"One film fits all" is a myth that sounds good but works just as poorly as diets that "change everything tomorrow" and coaching sessions that promise to make you a millionaire in two months.
A good film doesn't have to do everything. It just needs to do the right thing. That's perfectly sufficient!
