DSTNCMP²² COMPLETION

Farewell to Hamburg

It's not often that just three days can cause so much heartache. On the 3rd day of the DSTNCMP22 , it was time to say goodbye to the City of Bridges, the cosmopolitan port city of Hamburg, to the approximately 240 participants of this popular industry event, and to the team from the organizing company netzvitamine and their volunteers.

After a total of 45 sessions filled with discussions, debates, laughter, and solutions, a slight sense of wistfulness sets in on the way home. For twelve years, Hamburg served as the setting for the number one industry event in the German-speaking tourism sector; now, for the time being, it has served as the backdrop for the industry’s think tank for the last time. The next DSTNCMPwill be held at a different location, which has yet to be found.

From Nudging to Naked Hiking

For many of the participants, the spectacular DSTNCMP evening eventon Day 2 didn't end until the wee hours of the night—and yet the sessions on Day 3 began again at 9:00 a.m. with the same number of attendees.

As always, the sessions began with images and clips by Johannes Leistner and Richy Rädler, edited and scored by Mattvey Klimenko of silberstern Filmproduktion, and hosted by Bernhard Lingg. And then we were off into the 4th and 5th sessions, covering the eight thematic strands and the netzvitamineAKADEMIE.

The range of topics spanned everything from nudging concepts, accessibility, forest bathing, and nude hiking to a call to action for the path to Net Zero 2030 and creative methods for various tasks.

And then, of course, there was still the matter of determining the winner of theDSTNCMP Prize22 . The vote from the DSTNCMP participantswas clear: Using a Mentimeter poll, 41 percent chose the project "Alpsee-Grünten Mobil – the Ringbus" as the top choice among the six finalists.

The Ringbus is a great example of how perseverance can lead to sustainable mobilitycan be established. The newly created bus route connects five cities and municipalities in the Alpsee-Grünten vacation region every hour and serves as a hub for other bus and train connections from locations within the vacation region.

The project is funded by tourist taxes. Guests and second-home owners ride for free. Locals can purchase an affordable resident pass for 9.95 euros per month. Last-minute travelers and day-trippers can use the Ringbus line with a day pass for 9 euros.

Farewell

The Knowledge Booster came to a close with a farewell lunch at the Heritage Restaurant at Le Méridien.

With an Astra Pils or a glass of fine Riesling in hand, their eyes wandered one last time across the blue sky and the Outer Alster toward Hamburg’s towers.

In Hamburg, people say "Tschüss."
