OUR COLLECTIVE EFFORT FOR THE GUEST!
An appeal from Hamburg: our collective effort for the guest!
Two and a half days of engaging discussions and productive outcomes in HafenCity have concluded. Below are the initial results from Saturday's 4x6 sessions – all other details will follow ASAP.
As promised, we will also provide all mind maps, the participant list, etc. – please bear with us a little longer. We will also structure the complete results as quickly as possible and then make them available to the entire industry in a suitable format…
The conclusion is clear: Without our collective effort, no destination can function – a DMO needs quality hotels, and the hotels need a network-oriented and visionary DMO. And all other service providers, platforms, suppliers, and so on, must pull together. Specifically: For the guest experience.
I would like to take this opportunity to express a truly big THANK YOU from my side as well: Firstly, to everyone who was there in Hamburg – the participants. For their trust in a new concept. For the many great and, above all, profound contributions. The experiences. The expertise. And the willingness to break new ground, to sit at one table with all players, and to discuss with a forward-thinking mindset. That was truly impressive (as far as I can tell) – wow!
And then, of course, a big thank you to the sponsors who made this event possible in the first place. Thanks to all the diligent hands in the background and foreground: the students, the caterer, the music, and the entire team – especially Ute Dallmeier from ISM, who truly gave her all, from sponsor acquisition at the end of 2010 to carpet cleaning on Sunday evening. To all those I might have forgotten, or not mentioned by name (because the list would otherwise surely go on endlessly): Thank you!… In short: I am quite a bit proud of how smoothly everything worked out here!
Now for the interim results and a few impressions from day 3 below – more coming soon; for now, let the impressions sink in ;) Personally: it was great – and with a few fine adjustments, I believe we can definitely consider a repeat…
